French Green Clay Masque

So I thought I might post a masque recipe.

The mask I'm making today is great for teens with acne problems, and adult acne as well, as just giving a deep cleaning.

French Green clay for it's excellence in drawing out impurities from the skin.
Honey, it is said to be have natural anti-bacterial properties, and it just feels good on the skin, you can use honey or honey powder depending on what you have on hand.
Peppermint invigorates and enlivens the complexion, while also treating the nose to stimulating aromatherapy, while you can use peppermint EO it is easy to get too much in the mix, and it better to be saved for something else. You can use peppermint tea like sleepy time just open the tea bag and add to the mixture.
Aloe Vera Juice, it soothes the skin, I used the juice not the gel because the gel has a thickener added, and if you have the green gel the type for sunburns it also has an additive to help take out the sting which isn't really needed in this case.

  • 2 tbs green clay. (French Green Clay is highly efficient at drawing oils and toxins from the skin)
  • 1 tsp Honey, or Honey Powder (Honey is said to be a natural antiseptic due to its tendency to absorb the life-sustaining moisture out of bacterial cell walls.)
  • 1 tsp Peppermint leaves, or peppermint EO (1-2 drops) Peppermint invigorates and enlivens the complexion, while also treating the nose to stimulating aromatherapy.
  • ⅓ tsp Aloe Vera  Juice (soothes the skin)
  • 1 tbs Chamomile tea or purified water (or enough to make paste)

Once you have finished mixing in the liquid, begin applying the paste to your face in circular downward motions, and don't forget to apply it to your neck as well. You will want to try and avoid the eye area as the skin on the eyelids is pretty sensitive.

Now sit back and relax for 20 minutes and let the masque do it's work.

Once the masque has set on  your face and neck for the allotted 20 minutes use a damp steamy wash cloth to pat the mask off trying not to rub.  you can do this either at the sink or in a nice hot shower.

I like to wash my face after with a nice goats milk soap, than apply the moisturizer of your choice.

I Hope you enjoy!
